Self-Management Education

The Diabetes Self-Management Education Program* at the Joslin Diabetes Center is designed to help people with diabetes gain the skills and knowledge to better control their health and to prevent complications of diabetes. The program is comprised of courses that address the specific needs of people with diabetes.

  • First Steps
  • What Can I Eat?
  • Foods That Fit
  • Exercise Basics
  • Healthy Mom-Healthy Baby (for gestational diabetes)
Click here for a schedule of upcoming classes. Group classes are typically offered monthly on weekdays and quarterly on Saturdays. Check our site regularly for the most current class information.
 
All classes are held at the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at Cy-Fair Hospital located at 11302 Fallbrook Drive in suites 308. The training is provided by Christine Goodson, registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator.
 
Participants in the program must have been previously diagnosed with diabetes, have a referral from their physician for Diabetes Self-Management Education, and are required to pre-register for the classes.
