In a perverse way, it is a good thing that so many people have diabetes. The millions of people experiencing the illness has attracted the attention of many scientists, researchers, major medical companies – as well as the U.S. government.
As a result, everyday there are thousands of people actively working to come up with treatments and cures for diabetes. On the other hand, if you happen to be ill with a relatively rare disease, the chances of someone developing a treatment for it is almost nil.
However, all of this research activity has resulted in the development of drugs and recognition of lifestyle chances that virtually eliminate all of these major problems.
In other words, if you have to have diabetes, for the most part, you can expect to live a normal life.
